Michelle Wu - Piano, Voice & Music Theory
Michelle has been a piano and voice teacher for over 25 years. She has a Bachelor's Degree in music education with an emphasis on voice, and holds a Master's degree in Special Education. A mother of three, she has patience, and enthusiasm for teaching and learning. Her musical activities include musical theater, singing in the church choir, and singing in a bluegrass band.
Grace Mehm-Beginning Piano and Music TheoryGrace Mehm holds a Master's Degree in Oboe Performance from the Bob Cole Conservatory of music at California State University, Long Beach. At the Cole Conservatory she had the privilege of studying oboe and english horn with Carolyn Hove. Her Bachelor's Degree, also in Oboe Performance, is from the Hartt School of Music of the University of Hartford in West Hartford, Connecticut. While there she studied with oboist Humbert Lucarelli and was a longtime member of the Cheshire Symphony Orchestra. She has extensive experience teaching private and group lessons, including lessons in reed making.

Claire Mehm-Beginning Piano and Music TheoryClaire Mehm received her Master’s of Music in cello performance from California State University Long Beach’s Cole Conservatory of Music where she was a student of David Garrett. While at CSULB she has performed as a member of the University Orchestra and Collegium Musicum. Recently she has performed in the Los Angeles Cello Society concert series and as a participant in the California Chamber Music Institute. She has attended master classes with Anthony Elliott and Julia Lichten at the Aria International Summer Academy.
Prior to her studies at CSULB, Claire attended the University of Hartford’s Hartt School of Music where she received her Bachelor’s of Music in cello performance. While at Hartt, she studied with Steven Thomas and Mihai Tetal. She was also a member of the Hartt Symphony Orchestra and Collegium Musicum. Outside of school, Claire has been a member of the Hartford Opera Theater Orchestra, the Holberg Chamber Orchestra, the Torrington Civic Symphony, and the Cheshire Symphony Orcestra. She has also performed as part of Hartford’s River Crossings concert series. In addition to teaching at Allegro Music, Claire is the cello coach at the Renaissance High School of the Arts in Long Beach. |
